What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assisted Living Cook/ Potential Assistant Supervisor position at Arbor Park Assisted Living?
Do you have a passion for cooking and creating meals? We are looking for a creative, passionate, skilled cook to help make meals for our assisted living residents. Our menu is everchanging and we enjoy the opportunity to create new recipes. The person who fills this position will be looked at for leadership and hopes to advance to Assistant Supervisor.
Responsibilities Include:
- Prepares the food for the posted menu.
- Ensures the food prepared is palatable, attractive and at the proper temperature.
- Prepares food that is designed to meet the resident’s needs by following the resident’s diets.
- Prepares the food following the prescribed recipes.
- Prepares food following the health and safety requirements.
- Prepares any therapeutic diets that may be needed based on the resident’s diet.
- Handles the food in a safe manner and ensures that all dietary staff is doing the same.
- Follows posted procedures for safe operation of all equipment used within the Dietary Department.
- Serves the residents, employees and all others their meals during the appropriate meal times.
- Displays proper grooming and hygiene methods within the Dietary Department.
- Assists the Dietary Manager in preparing food orders and inventories.
- Assist in keeping the kitchen and dining room sanitary and clean at all times.
- Comply with Arbor Park Assisted Living Community’s safety program.
- Prepares food in a safe and efficient manner.
- Can show leadership and great customer service.
Other Requirements
- Must receive a “not disqualified” criminal background result from Department of Human Services and may not be on the OIG exclusions list.
- Must present valid identification showing you are a legal US citizen.
- Must be willing to receive a random drug test.
- Must be screened for TB.
- Must notify employer if you are ever placed on the exclusion list
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years experience in food service preferred.
- ServSafe program preferred.
- Able to communicate with residents and staff in an effective manner.
- Able to work as a leader and a part of our team.
- Must be able to follow instructions.
- Able to understand how to read recipes.
- Knowledge of how to prepare different meals.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
