What are the responsibilities and job description for the Garden Center Team Member position at Arbor Farms Nursery?
Arbor Farms Nursery is a family owned and operated garden center in Fort Wayne, IN. Come join our team to be a part of a dynamic, fun, outdoor work environment.
Duties would include:
- Selling trees, shrubs, and other plants
- Selling containers, soil, chemicals, and other garden center products
- Assisting guests as they plan their gardens
- Unloading and tagging new inventory
- Accurately and efficiently writing tickets for customers’ purchases
- Loading purchases into customers’ vehicles
- Watering and general maintenance of nursery stock
Qualifications:
- Strength to lift 40 lbs.
- Stamina to be on your feet 99% of your scheduled work time primarily on a gravel surface
- Ability to work in a fast paced and dirty environment
- Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain
- Ability to communicate by radio and phone with other nursery staff
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Plant knowledge and gardening experience is preferred but not required
- Hard working, friendly and enthusiastic
