What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Property Manager position at Arbor Camp?

Arbor Camp is a family-founded and owned collection of cabins and treehouses set on 30 wooded acres along the Union River in Ellsworth, offering beautiful, luxurious accommodations at a premium price point. Since opening in July 2025, we have received over 100 reviews on all platforms, with not a single rating below five stars. We hold ourselves to the highest possible standards when it comes to delivering an exceptional guest experience.
We’re looking for someone to help us oversee the day-to-day experience for guests and keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. This is a hands-on role, not a corporate one. You’ll be involved in the real, daily operation of the property—working closely with us (the owners) and learning how outstanding hospitality is delivered from the ground up.
Responsibilities:
- Communicating with guests before, during, and after stays
- Coordinating cabin and treehouse cleanings, turnovers, and supplies
- Checking cabins between stays to ensure everything is properly cleaned, placed, and organized
- Helping maintain hot tubs, firewood, and general readiness of the property
- Coordinating with cleaners maintenance staff when needed
- Handling guest needs and time-sensitive issues with kindness and professionalism
- Keeping an overall eye on the property and guest experience
You won’t be hired as a cleaner/maintenance tech, but you should be willing to step in when needed and be willing to learn and understand how and why everything is done. We are very involved owners and will train you directly.
Details:
- Part-time, year-round
- ~15-20 hours/week
- $25–$35/hour depending on experience
- Most weekends and occasional on-call availability required
Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of experience in hospitality, lodging, restaurants, or a related service-focused role (strongly preferred, not required)
- Strong attention to detail and high standards for cleanliness and organization
- Clear, professional, and friendly communication with guests
- Able to coordinate with cleaners and maintenance staff
- Reliable, accountable, and able to work independently
- Calm and solution-oriented when handling issues
- Willing to be hands-on and step in where needed
- Flexible availability (weekends and occasional on-call)
- Local or able to reliably commute
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- College education preferred
- Valid driver’s license
If you like being outside, working independently, and being part of something thoughtfully built, this could be a good fit. For the right person, this could grow into a full-time management position.
To apply, please submit your resume (including references) and write us a short note about yourself, explaining your experiences and why you think you’d be a good fit for this role, and email it to tim@arborcamp.com and scott@arborcamp.com.
Salary : $25 - $35
