Location: Omaha, NE - hybrid/flexible schedule with supervisor approval after initial training, which means there's an in-office expectation and the flexibility to work outside the office location, subject to supervisor approval.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 am. – 5 p.m. and various evening events.

Summary Description
The Commercial Banking Officer is responsible for providing comprehensive banking and lending solutions, developing new business, underwriting, structuring and closing of Commercial Banking loans, as well as maintaining and servicing an existing portfolio. This position represents the bank in the local community through active participation in community affairs and participates in marketing all bank products and services. This person will use a consultative approach to cultivate relationships with the goal of helping all Bank clients reach their growth goals. This person will abide by The Bank’s, Federal & State credit policy & regulations; utilizing sound underwriting principals to make credit approval decisions within their lending authority. This is all part of Arbor Bank’s core focus to be a Guiding Force to the business owner.

- Demonstrate accountability & active leadership in sales process through, but not limited to:
- Participate in weekly business development meetings to implement strategies to attract new clients, expand loan portfolio and increase market share.
- Furnish weekly business development reports: tracks and maintains database of calls, leads, prospects, pipeline utilizing Bank’s Customer Relationship Management platform (CRM).
- Actively solicit new business to the bank
- Build and maintain loan portfolio of small to mid-size business clients ranging from start up to $10M
- Develop and maintain new loan production and business development per year as set forth by leadership.
- Analyze potential borrowers for creditworthiness and to mitigate risks while working in tandem with credit staff to prepare accurate, complete, and concise credit memos for approval.
- Responsible for presenting recommended credit actions based upon sound financial analysis and assessment to approval authorities, including Commercial/Senior Loan Committee.
- Ability to assist clients’ business development through use of strong set of analytical skills & evaluation of credit.
- Grow Treasury Management Relationships.
- Customer Relationship Plans. Execute CRP focusing on the client, their goals and future, and assuring our position as a consultative advisor.
- Ability to introduce and participate in Arbor Bank’s Grow with Arbor Strengths initiatives & courses in coordination with certified Gallup coaches.
- Support the strategies and initiatives of the organization.
- Identify and refer opportunities to other areas of the Bank, including Treasury, Insurance and Mortgage.
- Credit memos will be totally compliant to The Bank, Federal and State policies, and regulations. Seeking only high-quality business.
- Monitor and maintain loan portfolio on a proactive basis, including ensuring required documentation is always included in loan files, performing inspections as needed, reviewing financials, and borrowing base certificates on regular basis.
- Actively participate in commercial loan committee meetings
- Be actively involved in the Omaha and Elkhorn communities.
- Communicate proactively & promptly with Credit and Loan Administration Departments to provide information necessary to achieve sound documentation that conforms to The Bank, Federal and State policies, and regulations.
- Provides prompt and effective service to all internal and external customers.
- Demonstrate commitment, dependability, and respect for team members, including regular and predictable attendance, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedule of availability.
- Perform physical requirements as described in the Physical Requirements section.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned or needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is desirable.
- 5 years of experience in commercial lending, with a proven track record of success in business development, client relationship management, and loan origination.
- Experienced in serving business clients of small to mid-size business clients ranging from start up to $10M .
- Experienced in maintaining and servicing a loan portfolio of at least $X, XXX, XXX.XX
- Strong financial analysis skills, with the ability to evaluate creditworthiness and assess risk factors associated with commercial loan transactions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools, credit scoring models, and banking software/systems.
- Knowledge of banking regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices related to commercial lending.
- Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management platforms (CRM).
