Nature Of The Position

Works collaboratively with general and special education staff to ensure students have the support they need to be successful academically, behaviorally, and socially. Will work 1:1 or small groups to

assist with lessons and completing assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet at least one of the following:

• At least two (2) years of study at an accredited institution of higher education (minimum of 60 credit hours)
• An associate degree (or higher)
• Meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment:
• Knowledge of and the ability to assist in, instructing reading, writing, and mathematics; or
• Knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics as
  
  

appropriate.

• Passing ETS Parapro assessment with passing score of 460
  
  

Responsibilities Of Position

• Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring.
• Provide instructional support services under the supervision of a teacher.
• Provide monitoring services during testing sessions.
• Assist with the Title 1 program: complete necessary paperwork for the Title 1 program.
• Prepare the classroom for subsequent instruction.
• Supervise pupils in learning center activities: computer lab, library, or media, etc.
• Read to children, listen to children read, explain assignments to children, etc.
• Respond to all levels of supervision.
