Arayna is seeking an experienced Data Center Construction Manager to support the delivery of mission-critical data center infrastructure projects across the United States. This role is responsible for coordinating field construction activities, managing contractors, ensuring quality execution, and driving projects safely from pre-construction through commissioning.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience constructing modern data centers with a strong understanding of electrical power systems, mechanical cooling systems, and critical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day construction activities on mission-critical data center projects.
- Coordinate electrical, mechanical, controls, low-voltage, and commissioning teams.
- Oversee installation of critical infrastructure including:
- Medium and low voltage electrical distribution
- UPS systems
- Generators
- Switchgear
- PDUs
- Busway
- Chillers
- Cooling towers
- CRAH/CRAC units
- In-row cooling
- Liquid cooling systems
- Monitor construction schedule, budget, quality, and project milestones.
- Lead coordination meetings with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and vendors.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Ensure work complies with contract documents, safety requirements, applicable codes, and quality standards.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Track construction progress and prepare weekly status reports.
- Coordinate equipment deliveries, site logistics, and installation sequencing.
- Support startup, testing, integrated systems testing, and commissioning activities.
- Resolve field issues and coordinate design clarifications with engineering teams.
- Verify completion of punch list items and turnover documentation.
- Ensure accurate as-built documentation is maintained throughout construction.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of direct experience constructing data centers or other mission-critical facilities.
- Experience managing construction of electrical power infrastructure and/or mechanical cooling systems for data centers.
- Understanding of one or more of the following:
- Electrical distribution systems
- UPS systems
- Backup generators
- MV/LV switchgear
- Bus duct systems
- Chilled water plants
- CRAH/CRAC systems
- Air-cooled or water-cooled HVAC systems
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of construction scheduling and project coordination.
- Experience working with multiple subcontractors simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Ability to travel to project sites throughout the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of commercial or industrial construction experience.
- Experience supporting hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, or government data center projects.
- Familiarity with commissioning processes and IST (Integrated Systems Testing).
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS), EPMS, or SCADA integration.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- PMP, CCM, or other construction management certifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field.
