What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Manager position at Araya?
The Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring the successful implementation, management, and optimization of pharmacy benefit programs. This position will resolve high-level/escalated issues. This role is responsible for maintaining strong client relationships, delivering proactive service, and coordinating cross-functional teams to support client needs.
- Serve as the main contact for clients, brokers, TPAs, and consultants.
- Lead regular client meetings and plan reviews. Some of these may require travel.
- Function as the project manager during client implementations, providing guidance on benefit design, cost management strategies, and program optimization.
- Review and analyze utilization, cost and savings reports to provide clients with insights and recommendations for improving outcomes.
- Coordinate benefit changes, formulary updates, and program rollouts.
- Oversee member communication (letters, outreach, etc.).
- Manage client escalations and complex member issues.
- Run weekly internal team meetings.
- Support the VP of Operations in overseeing the Account Services team and managing key projects.
- Function as primary client expert for Araya staff.
Qualifications:
3–7 years of experience in account management. PBM, pharmacy benefits, or healthcare experience is preferred.
Experience working with brokers, TPAs, or employer groups.
Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Project Management skills.
Additional Benefits:
Quarterly bonus program with the potential to earn up to 10% of your quarterly salary.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
