Position Overview
Araya HVAC Services is seeking skilled HVAC/R Technicians to join our commercial team. This role is open to technicians at all experience levels — from those early in their career looking to develop their trade skills, to seasoned professionals ready to work independently and take on greater responsibility. Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, service, and repair commercial HVAC/R systems including rooftop units, split systems, chillers, air handlers, and refrigeration equipment.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC/R equipment across multiple client sites.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues and carry out effective, code-compliant repairs.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Safely handle, recover, and recharge refrigerants in compliance with EPA 608 regulations.
- Communicate service findings and recommendations clearly to customers and building managers.
- Accurately document all work performed, parts used, and time on job in company software.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and parts inventory in clean, organized condition.
- Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards on every job site.
- Collaborate with team members and support junior technicians as experience level allows.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- EPA 608 Certification
- Familiarity with HVAC/R tools and basic system knowledge.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work at heights, and in varying conditions.
- Dependable, hardworking, and eager to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment in or completion of a state-approved HVAC apprenticeship or trade school program.
- 6 months – 1 year of hands-on HVAC or refrigeration experience (including labs or internships).
- OSHA 10 Certification.
- Exposure to service management platforms like Service Fusion or Housecall Pro.
