What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Content & Thought Leadership position at Arax Advisory Partners?
About Arax Investment Partners
Arax Investment Partners is a growing firm dedicated to serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients and the advisors who work with them. We offer comprehensive wealth management — investment management, financial planning, tax strategy, and estate planning — and we are in an active phase of growth through both organic marketing and strategic acquisitions.
We are building a content program to match our ambitions, and we are hiring a Director of Content to lead it.
The Role
The Director of Content is responsible for the editorial strategy, voice, and content program of Arax Investment Partners. This is both a senior leadership role and a hands-on writing role — you will set direction and maintain standards, and you will also be in the work: writing and editing significant content, shaping thought leadership with subject matter experts, and producing copy that represents the firm at its most visible moments.
You will manage a Content Manager who supports day-to-day production and build AI-assisted workflows that increase the team’s output capacity. The best content — thought leadership, key marketing materials, firm communications — will have your fingerprints on it. The right candidate is energized by that, not deterred by it.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Editorial Leadership:
• Own the firm’s content strategy — defining the topics, formats, channels, and cadence that serve the firm’s growth and brand objectives
• Develop and maintain the editorial calendar, ensuring a consistent flow of content across thought leadership, market commentary, client communications, and advisor-facing materials
• Establish and enforce the firm’s editorial voice and quality standards across all content, regardless of author or channel
• Build and maintain a content governance framework, including a pre-approved library of advisor-ready templates that can be deployed within compliance guardrails
Thought Leadership & Subject Matter Expert Content:
• Partner with investment, planning, tax, and insurance professionals to develop thought leadership content that reflects the firm’s expertise and perspective
• Ghost-write, edit, and shape content on behalf of senior professionals who have deep knowledge but limited time to write
• Build repeatable workflows that make it efficient to extract, develop, and publish expertise from across the firm on an ongoing basis
Brand Voice & Client-Facing Content:
• Serve as the steward of the firm’s brand voice — ensuring every piece of content, from a website page to an advisor email, reflects who Arax is and how we want to be perceived
• Write and edit significant content directly — website copy, key marketing materials, thought leadership pieces, and firm communications that require senior editorial judgment
Advisor & Business Development Content:
• Develop and maintain a library of content that supports advisor recruiting — firm culture narratives, value proposition materials, and communications that resonate with experienced advisors evaluating their next move
• Support the firm’s practice acquisition efforts with content that speaks to potential seller advisors and reflects Arax’s approach to growth and advisor transitions
• Produce advisor-facing content — toolkits, talking points, client communication templates — that helps advisors deliver a consistent client experience
Team & Operations:
• Manage and develop the Content Manager, setting clear editorial direction and creating the conditions for high-quality, consistent output
• Build and refine AI-assisted content workflows that increase team output and efficiency without compromising quality
• Own the relationship with the compliance team for all marketing content — designing workflows so that review is integrated into the production process from the start
• Partner with marketing operations on content distribution, automation, and platform integration
Qualifications
Required:
• 8–15 years of content, editorial, or communications experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Direct experience in financial services content — wealth management, asset management, financial planning, or financial media; must be able to write credibly and accurately on investment, planning, and financial topics
• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to set and hold high standards across a team and across diverse content types
• Experience developing thought leadership content in partnership with subject matter experts who are not professional writers
• Familiarity with FINRA and SEC marketing regulations for investment advisers, and experience working within a compliance review process
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage an editorial content program at scale, including editorial calendars, content governance, and multi-channel distribution
Preferred:
• Fluency with AI content tools in a professional context — experience building prompt-based workflows, not just using AI for personal productivity
• Background in RIA, independent broker-dealer, or multi-family office environments
• Familiarity with compliance archiving and content review platforms (Smarsh, Global Relay, or similar)
• Experience managing or collaborating with remote, distributed teams
Why This Role:
• Senior access — you’ll report directly to the Chief Growth Officer and work alongside investment, planning, and business development leadership from day one
• Meaningful work — the content you produce will directly influence how advisors, clients, and partners see Arax at a pivotal moment in the firm’s history
• Flexibility — this role can be performed remotely from anywhere in the US
Arax Investment Partners is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a team that reflects the diversity of the clients and communities we serve.
