POSITION PURPOSE:

The Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP) provides direct mental health services to students within the Creeks programs, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and social emotional learning (SEL) support. The QMHP supports students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs in the school setting and collaborates with educators and multidisciplinary teams to promote student success.

This position is funded through a federal School-Based Mental Health grant and is temporary in nature. Continuation of this position is contingent upon ongoing grant funding.

NATURE & SCOPE:

The QMHP delivers school-based mental health services aligned with student needs, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and program goals. This position supports implementation of SEL practices, crisis response, and behavioral interventions while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.

This position is subject to board policies, administrative rules and procedures, department regulations, and applicable state and federal statutes. This position does not carry administrative authority.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Provide direct mental health counseling services, including individual and group therapy
  ? Provide crisis intervention, including suicide risk assessments, threat assessments, and de-escalation support
  ? Deliver social emotional learning (SEL) instruction and support daily within classrooms
  ? Support classroom regulation and student skill development related to executive functioning and behavior
  ? Provide mental health services as outlined in IEPs and participate in IEP and eligibility meetings
  ? Maintain accurate documentation, including required assessments and reporting tools such as BSAT, SIRT, and Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale
  ? Ensure compliance with OAR, HIPAA, and FERPA requirements
  ? Collaborate with educators, behavior specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to support student needs
  ? Support restorative practices and Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS)-informed interventions
  ? Provide family-centered services as appropriate and approved by the treatment team
  ? Participate in staff training and provide professional development on mental health topics
  ? Assist with onboarding and training of new staff as requested
  ? Maintain current licensure and pursue ongoing professional growth
  ? Establish and maintain positive relationships with partner agencies and districts
  ? Attend required meetings, trainings, and conferences, including travel as needed
  ? Provide coverage for clinical responsibilities as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field
  ? Licensure through a professional licensing board (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT) and/or TSPC as required
  ? Experience providing mental health services to youth
  ? Experience working with diverse populations, including race, gender, and disability
  ? Ability to provide individual, group, and family-based services
  ? Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and crisis intervention
  ? Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  ? Demonstrated commitment to equity and culturally responsive practices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Experience working in school settings, particularly special education environments
  ? Knowledge of Restorative Justice, Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS), and PBIS frameworks
  ? Experience supporting students with disabilities and high behavioral needs
  ? Bilingual or bicultural skills highly desirable
  ? Experience providing staff training or professional development

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Master’s degree in mental health, counseling, social work, or related field
  ? Any combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a variety of settings including school and office environments. The position may involve working with students and families experiencing high levels of need or crisis. Requires travel between sites and may include occasional evening or weekend meetings. Work requires use of computers, office equipment, and personal vehicle.

Salary : $51,722 - $106,115
