SUMMARY OF POSITION
Performs daily custodial and maintenance operations in County buildings.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
1. Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor.
2. Directs: This is a non-supervisory position.
3. Other contacts: Has contact with the general public, co-workers, other County employees, and officials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES (EXAMPLES OF WORK)
· Clean offices and public areas including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and disposing of trash.
· Clean bathrooms using commercial chemicals.
· Perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
· Perform light building maintenance and woodworking tasks at County facilities as directed.
· Strip and wax floors as directed.
· Clean windows and fixtures as directed.
· Other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to safely move 60 lbs.
Must be able to safely operate custodial power equipment.
Must be able to communicate effectively orally, including giving and receiving instructions.
Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
Must be able to read, understand and perform mathematical calculations to safely operate equipment and use cleaning chemicals.
Must be able to properly use hand tools, power tools and other specialized equipment.
Must be punctual and dependable for work shift assigned.
REQUIRED LICENSES
Maintain valid Class C Texas driver's license and good driving record.
