ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Knowledge of: animal behavior; health regulations; city ordinances and state laws relating to animal control; equipment operations and record
preparation.
Skill/Ability to: safely and properly handle and care for animals; establish and
maintain effective relationships with co-workers, vendors and the general public;
demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written communication; maintain necessary certifications and work flexible hours, including weekends.
Acceptable Experience And Training
Current Texas driver’s license.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to: Animal Control Lead Officer.
- Directs: This is a non-supervisory position.
- Other: Has contact with other county employees, animal shelters, local
EXAMPLES OF WORK/Essential Duties
- Help prepare animals for rabies testing and transportation to lab.
- Assist in the maintenance of animal holding facility, grounds, vehicle, and equipment in accordance with state regulations.
- Assist in euthanizing stray and unwanted animals.
- Care for animals, including feeding, watering, bathing and de-fleaing on a daily basis.
- Clean and disinfect facility and animal enclosures on a daily basis.
- Clean and disinfect food bowls, litter pans, and other equipment on a daily basis.
- Maintain and report inventory to Animal Control Lead Officer.
- Exercise and give attention to animals on a daily basis.
- Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
