A Day in the Life
- Start by reviewing service orders and your schedule in our appointment software.
- Triage incoming machines, diagnose issues with testing tools and troubleshooting guides, and consult manufacturer repair manuals.
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment used in commercial cleaning, restoration, and surface preparation.
- Evaluate each unit for additional service needs, then communicate findings to teammates and customers.
- Create bids, present estimates, and schedule repair appointments; keep customers updated in person, by phone, and via email.
- Order parts, coordinate with vendors, and align shop workload with other technicians to hit department quality and productivity goals.
- Pitch in across the shop—assist fellow techs and store staff, maintain tools, and keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
Equipment You’ll Service
- Surface-prep machinery: floor scrapers, floor grinders, shot blasters
- Powertrains and related: basic automotive systems; 2-, 3-, and 4-cylinder gas engines
- Cleaning and restoration: truck-mounted carpet cleaning units, portable carpet extractors, hard-surface floor cleaning machines
- Specialty gear: duct cleaning equipment, deodorizing equipment, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, air movers, HEPA vacuums
What You Bring
- 2 years (preferred) in any of the following: commercial cleaning/restoration equipment; small engine repair/maintenance; pressure washer repair/maintenance; or vehicle repair/maintenance.
- Valid driver license and a clean MVR (no DUIs or careless/reckless driving in the past 3 years).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Own a basic set of mechanic’s tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, technical skill, and attentive diagnosis/problem solving.
- Committed to safety—use safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and complete quality work on time.
- Professional presence with solid written/verbal communication and basic computer skills.
- Occasional overtime as needed.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a bonus.
