Industrial Cleaning Systems Diagnostic Technician
Pay Range: $21.00 - $23.46
Picture this: a truck-mounted extractor arrives with weak suction, a dehumidifier flags an error, and a HEPA vacuum needs a motor replacement. You log each job, open service orders, schedule appointments, and begin testing—consulting OEM manuals and troubleshooting guides. You call the customer with your findings, build a clear estimate, source parts from vendors, and coordinate the workflow with your technician team—while keeping your bay spotless and safe.
Core responsibilities- Perform precise diagnostics and repairs across commercial cleaning, restoration, and surface-preparation equipment.
- Apply proper use of meters, diagnostic tools, troubleshooting guides, and manufacturer repair manuals.
- Assess and report additional service needs that surface during inspection.
- Maintain and surpass department standards for quality and productivity.
- Follow supervisory direction; collaborate with service department and store staff; assist fellow technicians when needed.
- Use and maintain shop tools and equipment correctly.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety practices, including PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.).
- Create service orders for all incoming repairs and manage appointments in the scheduling system.
- Communicate with customers face-to-face, by phone, and via email to schedule, update, and approve work.
- Prepare bids and present professional estimates for repair and service.
- Coordinate and balance workload with other technicians to meet deadlines.
- Order components and collaborate with vendors to ensure timely parts availability.
- Coordinate service activities with other store employees to support seamless operations.

- Experience preferred (2 years) in one or more: Commercial cleaning/restoration equipment; small engine repair/maintenance; pressure washer repair/maintenance; vehicle repair/maintenance.
- License: Valid driver license with a clean record—no DUIs or Careless/Reckless driving listed on MVR for the past 3 years.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Tools: Possess a basic set of mechanic’s tools.
- Technical strengths: High level of mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and diagnostic/problem-solving skill.
- Work quality: Deliver timely, accurate, and thorough repairs.
- Safety-first: Always use appropriate PPE and safe work practices.
- Physical: Regularly lift 50 lbs.
- Professionalism: Professional appearance and demeanor; strong written and verbal communication; basic computer skills.
- Schedule: Willing to work occasional overtime.
- Plus: Bilingual English/Spanish is a bonus.
