Job Description
Aramark Facilities Management is hiring an Electrician I to support Mecklenburg County facilities throughout the Charlotte, NC area. In this role, you will help maintain electrical systems across approximately 75 county buildings by performing electrical repairs, troubleshooting issues, replacing lighting components, and supporting facility maintenance operations. This position is ideal for an experienced Electrician, Maintenance Electrician, Electrical Technician, or Building Maintenance Technician who enjoys service-focused work in a stable environment rather than high-volume construction projects. The schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional after-hours call support when needed. During winter weather events, you may also assist with snow and ice removal efforts to help keep facilities safe and operational. The successful candidate will have a valid North Carolina Electrical License, a strong safety mindset, and a commitment to reliable customer service.

Job Responsibilities
- Perform electrical repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting in county-owned facilities.
- Replace ballasts, lamps, breakers, switches, receptacles, lighting fixtures, and related electrical components.
- Inspect, test, and diagnose electrical systems to identify issues and ensure safe operation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, and electrical specifications.
- Install, examine, repair, and maintain wiring, conduits, feeders, and electrical equipment.
- Complete preventive maintenance activities and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Respond to work orders and service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Support general facilities maintenance operations as needed across approximately 75 county buildings.
- Communicate effectively with facility personnel, managers, and maintenance team members.
- Follow all safety procedures, electrical codes, PPE requirements, and Aramark operating standards.
- Participate in occasional after-hours call responses for urgent facility needs.
- Assist with snow and ice removal operations during winter weather events when required.
Required
- Active North Carolina State Electrical License.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- 10 years of electrical experience, preferably in service, commercial, institutional, or facilities
- maintenance environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving lighting systems, breakers, panels, and building electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
- Knowledge of electrical safety procedures, codes, and industry standards.
- Ability to work independently across multiple facilities and prioritize service requests.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, climb ladders, walk, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, and respond to occasional after-hours calls.
- Experience supporting government, municipal, healthcare, education, or large commercial facilities.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized work order systems.
- Experience supporting multiple sites or geographically dispersed facilities.
- General facilities maintenance experience beyond electrical work.
