The Inmate Kitchen Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role located in Vero Beach, FL. The supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations within a correctional facility. Key tasks include supervising inmate workers, ensuring food safety and preparation standards are met, executing the menu, maintaining inventory, and adhering to corrections regulations. In addition, the role will require training and mentoring inmate workers to build valuable skills in food service and teamwork.
- Experience in food preparation, food safety, kitchen operations, and inventory management
- Supervisory and leadership skills to effectively manage and mentor a team
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of food service best practices and compliance with sanitation regulations
- Capability to work effectively in a correctional facility environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certifications or relevant education is preferred
- Prior experience in a supervisory role or correctional services environment is a plus
