What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Coordinator position at Arab American Civic Council?
About the Opportunity
The Arab American Civic Council is hiring a passionate and motivated Field Coordinator to join our team for the 2026 election cycle. As part of our MOVE Campaign, you will help turn out Arab American voters across Orange County through nonpartisan GOTV outreach.
This is a 1099 contract position paying $4,000/month, running August through November 3, 2026.
What You’ll Do
- Recruit, orient, and train a team of paid canvassers on GOTV program goals, canvassing scripts, and tools
- Lead door-to-door canvassing in high-concentration Arab American neighborhoods and/or anti-war voters in key cities across Orange County and reach at least 8000 voters.
- Conduct voter registration drives and voter education outreach at mosques, community events, and other community venues
- Collect pledge-to-vote cards and track progress toward registration and mobilization goals
- Train and support canvassers on VAN/MiniVAN for voter contact tracking and data entry
- Work with the Executive Director to ensure high-quality voter contacts and accurate data reporting
- Coordinate outreach to Arab American businesses and community organizations in the program areas
- Meet all timeline deliverables for the MOVE 2026 program from August through Election Day
Who You Are
- You enjoy canvassing. A major portion of this role is hands-on field work and canvass management — you should genuinely enjoy it.
- You love meeting people. You thrive on public-facing work and direct community engagement.
- You’re a team builder. You have experience managing volunteers or staff, training field teams, and driving collaborative results.
- You’re goal-driven. You set targets, track progress, and adapt quickly to hit your numbers.
- You’re a problem-solver. When obstacles come up in the field, you find solutions and keep the program moving.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in civic engagement or field organizing, with direct voter contact experience (canvassing, phone banking, text banking, voter registration)
- Experience managing and training field staff or volunteers, including optimizing canvass outcomes
- Proficiency with VAN/MiniVAN or similar voter contact and data management platforms
- Experience in advocacy, youth engagement, or community organizing — preferably with the Arab American or MENA community
- Strong organizational and analytical skills; able to set priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced campaign environment
- Self-starter with a solution-oriented mindset and strong attention to data quality
- Bilingual in Arabic and English is a plus
