Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, utilizing reservation systems like OpenTable when applicable.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff.
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, upselling specials and wine pairings to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures.
- Check in with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction, address any concerns promptly, and manage guest relations professionally.
- Clear tables, bussing dishes swiftly and efficiently to maintain cleanliness and flow within the dining area.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashiering duties and basic math calculations for bills and tips.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a server in a restaurant or food service environment, preferably with fine dining experience or in a nightclub setting.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms; experience with OpenTable is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing, and upselling opportunities.
- Previous experience with food preparation or kitchen work is advantageous but not required.
