What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Robotics Engineer 1 position at ARA Brand?
ARA is seeking a Senior Robotics Engineer 1 with a background in unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) physics to support US Navy UUV Modeling, simulation, and testing efforts. Seeking an individual with a deep understanding of unmanned underwater vehicle systems (remotely operated and autonomous vehicles).
As a Senior Robotics Engineer 1, you will conduct modeling and simulation activities that include analysis, simulation development, verification or validation.
Required Experience and Expertise include:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or related field and 8-10 years of experience or a master's degree with 6-8 years of experience.
- C Developer
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Previous experience in physics-based engineering modeling and simulation.
- Experience implementing (3rd party) UUV physics modeling and simulations based on theory and physical data.
- Experience developing and implementing real time high-fidelity physics models for UUVs.
- Experience verifying and validating UUV physics modeling and simulations based on physical test data.
- Experience modeling underwater environments and factors that impact UUV operation (and simulation).
- Experience preparing research reports, technical proposals, formal presentations, and reading/interpretating data.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and programming language such as Python, C , Fortran, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or in a diverse team setting.
Preferred Experience:
- Working with U.S. Navy UUVs or similar.
- Working with the Naval Autonomy Test System (NATS), NATS Integrated Management System (NIMS), and/or Virtual Maritime Autonomy Test Environment (VMATE).
- Developing and/or using Tactical Awareness Kit (TAK) applications.
- Developing and conducting testing for digital twin environments.
- Surveying underwater environments and finding/collecting available data for testing.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
