Position Summary
The Aquidneck Club in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, is seeking a dedicated and reliable Steward/Dishwasher to join our culinary team. This role is essential for maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment, ensuring our members and guests enjoy exceptional dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities
· Wash and sanitize all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans according to health and safety standards.
· Maintain cleanliness of kitchen work areas, including floors, equipment, and storage spaces.
· Assist with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after meal service.
· Properly dispose of trash, recycling, and food waste.
· Restock supplies such as dishes, utensils, and cleaning products as needed.
· Support chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation and other duties as requested.
· Adhere to all food safety and sanitation policies established by The Aquidneck Club and regulatory agencies.
· Report maintenance issues or shortages to the supervisor in a timely manner.
Qualifications
· Previous experience as a dishwasher or steward preferred, but not required training will be provided.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
· Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions.
· Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
· Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
