The ideal candidate brings strong aircraft maintenance or MRO experience, excellent vendor-management skills, and the ability to identify and resolve technical, quality, cost, and schedule issues in a fast-paced aviation environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Administer and oversee maintenance and repair agreements with assigned vendors and repair agencies.
  • Serve as the on-site technical liaison between the airline and maintenance providers.
  • Monitor maintenance work-in-progress to ensure workmanship meets quality standards and approved work scopes.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are performed in accordance with applicable specifications, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Track aircraft, engine, and component repair status, delivery schedules, technical issues, and changing maintenance conditions.
  • Review and audit vendor invoices to verify accuracy and compliance with contractual terms and conditions.

  • Work closely with Engineering to ensure required technical information is available to vendors in a timely manner.
  • Provide Engineering and leadership with feedback regarding conditions identified during maintenance.
  • Identify issues that may affect aircraft safety, quality, cost, or schedule and escalate them appropriately.
  • Evaluate changing maintenance conditions and recommend or authorize appropriate changes to the approved work scope within established authority.
  • Perform root-cause analysis of significant aircraft or component discrepancies identified before or during maintenance.
  • Recommend improvements to maintenance programs, procedures, and work specifications based on findings from vendor maintenance events.
  • Stay current on developments in aircraft repair procedures, preventative actions, and maintenance practices.
  • Maintain current aviation safety and Safety Management System (SMS) training and incorporate SMS principles into daily activities.
  • Complete required training and maintain all necessary qualifications and certifications.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in aircraft maintenance, airline technical operations, MRO, aircraft repair, or aviation engineering.
  • Experience working with third-party maintenance vendors, repair stations, or external MRO providers.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance processes, technical documentation, work scopes, and quality requirements.
  • Experience monitoring maintenance work and resolving technical issues with external vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities involving safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Experience reviewing maintenance-related invoices, contracts, warranty claims, or vendor charges.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience conducting root-cause analysis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Engineering, Maintenance, vendors, OEMs, lessors, and other aviation stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate technical and commercial records.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in situations involving changing maintenance conditions and competing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of aviation safety, regulatory compliance, and SMS principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial airline or major aircraft maintenance operations.
  • Experience supporting heavy maintenance, aircraft checks, engine maintenance, or component overhaul/repair.
  • Experience working with aircraft manufacturers, leasing companies, or other airlines.
  • Familiarity with FAA maintenance regulations and requirements, including Part 43 and Part 145.
  • Experience administering aircraft maintenance or MRO contracts.
  • Experience with warranty claims, repair concessions, material disposition, or vendor performance management.
  • Background in airline Engineering, Technical Operations, Maintenance Control, or Technical Services.

Why This Role Matters

This position plays a critical role in ensuring aircraft return from vendor maintenance safely, on schedule, within approved scope, and at the expected level of quality and cost.
