Kennel Attendant – Boarding & Daycare Department
About the Position
Our veterinary hospital is seeking a dependable, compassionate Kennel Attendant to join our Boarding and Daycare team. This role is essential to ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for the pets in our care. Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for dogs and cats, including feeding, watering, and monitoring their well‑being
- Maintain the overall cleanliness of the facility, including kennels, play areas, and common spaces
- Clean, disinfect, and sanitize animal housing areas according to hospital protocols
- Supervise and engage dogs in daycare playgroups and individual enrichment activities
- Perform laundry duties and assist with bathing or basic grooming as needed
- Restock supplies and keep work areas organized
- Observe and report any changes in behavior, appetite, or health to veterinary staff
- Follow all hospital protocols for animal handling, safety, and infection control
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine love for animals and comfort working with dogs and cats of all sizes
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean, sanitary environment
- Ability to work on your feet, lift up to 50 lbs, and handle physically active tasks
- Reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude
- Previous animal care or kennel experience is helpful but not required — we will train the right person
Schedule & Work Environment
- Weekends and holidays are required, as pet care is needed every day
