Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and responsible AQUATIC VEGETATION MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL to join our team. This role involves all aspects of running a pond/lake management company including applying pesticides safely and effectively across various aquatic settings, including stormwater basins, private farm ponds, municipal ponds and lakes, landscapes, etc. Performing site visits, creating quotes, submitting proper information to obtain application permits, maintaining legally required written records of applications, ensuring objectives have been met, and obtaining new customers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of aquatic vegetation management, stormwater management principles, general fish pond management, customer relations, permit requirements, insurance and CEU requirements, with the ability to operate hand tools, power tools, jon boats, kayaks, and driving vehicles as needed.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced aquatic environmental technician, foreman or supervisor who is interested in building a client base from the ground up and working with a small company who values team members for their contributions and treats all employees as important assets to the team.

This position requires a person who is comfortable and capable of working either alone or with minimal supervision to perform all required duties including administrative/office tasks associated with client management.

This position requires the ability to become certified in Category 09 Aquatic Herbicide Application and CORE applicator.

This position involves working closely with company owner to develop a sound plan for success, and then executing plans successfully and proactively.

Duties

• Safely apply pesticides and chemicals according to regulatory guidelines and safety protocols
• Keep company and personal applicator licenses up to date
• Build client base
• Create and nurture industry contacts
• Operate hand tools, power tools, sprayers, and other equipment necessary for application processes
• Maintain accurate records of pesticide applications and treatments performed
• Follow all safety procedures related to chemical handling and equipment operation
• Drive company vehicles or equipment to various job sites as required

Experience

• Prior experience in aquatic vegetation control is mandatory
• Knowledge of pesticide application regulations and safety standards is mandatory
• Must be comfortable wading/walking/hiking through aquatic habitats and physically capable of doing so
• Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, boats, farm machinery, and driving vehicles is beneficial
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety are essential for success in this role
• Ability to operate various equipment safely and efficiently
• Valid driver’s license is required for driving company vehicles or equipment
