Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time Mechanical Engineering Intern to work in our Canonsburg, PA office this summer. The hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Intern will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered a non-exempt employee.

Physical Job Demands

Minimum Qualifications / Experience
- Two (2) years of experience in engineering or similar collegiate classes preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
- Interact with Piping and equipment engineers to understand the Mechanical design process (piping designs and structural steel).
- Work on and complete a development assignment for the design of a component using principles of mechanics, strength of materials, and hydraulics.
- Develop an application to automate a repetitive task within the Mechanical department using tools such as VBA (in Excel), Python, or MATLAB.
- Provide a report at the end of the internship period, describing the tasks undertaken, the objectives, and the conclusions.
- Aquatech Internships are in the office five days per week, 40 hours per week. The internship program is temporary employment that lasts for a maximum duration of ninety (90) days. Successful completion of this internship will provide you with invaluable skills in the water treatment industry and make a compelling addition to your professional journey. Internship will begin in the 3rd week of May 2025.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Basic knowledge of CAD Products such as Inventor, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD would be a plus.
- Programming skills in Python or MATLAB would be considered an advantage.
- A basic understanding of engineering concepts such as stress, strain, and material properties is expected.
