Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time Accountant to work in our Canonsburg, PA office. The hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Accountant will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, a team player, and must also possess the ability to learn accounting software programs.
Job Description:
- The Staff Accountant is an entry-level position responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial records. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early career professional looking to build a strong foundation in accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed
- Assist in preparing financial statements and internal reports
- Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests
- Help ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Analyze variances and investigate discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records
- Assist with ad hoc accounting and finance projects
- Assist the accounting team with implementing automation
Skill Requirements:
- Basic understanding of accounting principles {GAAP or IFRS)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and formulas a plus) and other Office 365 products
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite}
- Internship or part-time experience in accounting or finance would be preferred
