Spa/Hot Tub Delivery

This position is responsible for the safe transportation, delivery, placement, and setup of residential and commercial hot tubs and spas. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, physically capable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Our delivery technicians represent Aqua Rec directly to our customers and are expected to provide professional, courteous service while ensuring each hot tub is delivered and installed safely, efficiently, and without damage.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Hot Tub Delivery & Placement

• Safely load, secure, transport, unload, and position hot tubs and spas at customer locations.
• Operate company delivery vehicles, trailers, lift gates, spa dollies, and other specialized moving equipment.
• Safely maneuver hot tubs through residential yards, gates, walkways, driveways, and other restricted-access areas.
• Evaluate delivery routes and site conditions to identify potential obstacles, hazards, and accessibility concerns.
• Assist with coordinating crane deliveries and specialized equipment when required.
• Protect customer property, including landscaping, fencing, decks, patios, driveways, and structures.
• Follow established procedures to prevent damage to hot tubs, equipment, vehicles, and customer property.
• Assist with removing and transporting existing hot tubs when scheduled.
• Properly dispose of packaging materials and maintain a clean work area.

Hot Tub Setup & Installation

• Position and level hot tubs on approved, prepared foundations or surfaces.
• Install spa accessories, covers, cover lifters, steps, and other applicable components.
• Assist with installation of approved accessories and equipment according to manufacturer requirements.
• Coordinate with licensed electrical contractors when electrical connections are necessary.
• Verify that tubs are properly positioned and accessible for future maintenance and service.
• Inspect delivered hot tubs for visible shipping damage, defects, or missing components.
• Assist with filling, startup, and basic operational checks when directed and qualified.
• Document any installation concerns or site conditions requiring additional work.

Electrical connections and other regulated work must be performed only by appropriately licensed or authorized personnel.

Customer Service

• Provide courteous, respectful, and professional service at every customer location.
• Communicate with customers regarding delivery placement and installation procedures.
• Answer basic customer questions regarding hot tub operation, maintenance, and accessories within the scope of training.
• Refer technical, warranty, or service-related questions to the appropriate Aqua Rec department.
• Obtain customer acknowledgment or signatures on required delivery documentation.
• Immediately report customer concerns, property damage, or product damage to management.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent Aqua Rec positively at all times.

Vehicle & Equipment Responsibilities

• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of company vehicles and trailers.
• Properly secure loads in accordance with company procedures and applicable transportation requirements.
• Maintain delivery equipment, straps, dollies, tools, and protective materials in safe working condition.
• Keep delivery vehicles clean, organized, and properly stocked.
• Report mechanical problems, vehicle damage, or unsafe equipment immediately.
• Follow all company driving policies and applicable traffic regulations.
• Maintain accurate delivery paperwork, vehicle inspection records, and other required documentation.

Warehouse & General Support

• Assist with receiving, inspecting, and staging hot tubs for scheduled deliveries.
• Prepare products and accessories for delivery.
• Organize inventory and maintain clean warehouse and loading areas.
• Assist with moving and positioning showroom hot tubs and merchandise.
• Support warehouse, service, and other departments when delivery schedules allow.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable under company insurance requirements.
• Ability to safely operate delivery vehicles and trailers appropriate to assigned duties.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work and safely handle large, heavy equipment as part of a team.
• Ability to work outdoors in rain, cold, heat, and varying Pacific Northwest weather conditions.
• Strong attention to safety, detail, and protection of customer property.
• Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively with a delivery team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours when necessary to complete scheduled deliveries.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience delivering or installing hot tubs, spas, appliances, furniture, or other oversized equipment.
• Experience operating trailers, lift gates, dollies, forklifts, or similar material-handling equipment.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Experience with load securement and safe lifting procedures.
• Knowledge of hot tub components, plumbing, and basic spa operations.
• Previous experience working in a customer-facing delivery or installation position.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

This position involves significant physical activity, including:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, pushing, and pulling.
• Regular lifting and carrying of tools, accessories, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds individually, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Moving extremely heavy and oversized hot tubs using approved mechanical equipment, properly trained teams, and established safety procedures.
• Working on uneven surfaces, slopes, gravel, grass, patios, and other residential terrain.
• Performing work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Entering and exiting delivery trucks and trailers throughout the workday.
• Maintaining balance and awareness while moving equipment through confined or difficult access areas.

Aqua Rec requires employees to use appropriate lifting techniques, team assistance, and mechanical equipment. Employees must not attempt unsafe lifts or moves.

Safety Expectations

Delivery technicians are expected to:

• Follow Aqua Rec's established safety procedures and applicable Washington State workplace safety requirements.
• Use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Inspect equipment before use.
• Follow safe loading, unloading, material-handling, and load-securement practices.
• Never operate equipment for which they have not received appropriate training or authorization.
• Immediately report injuries, near misses, unsafe conditions, and damaged equipment.
• Stop work and notify management when conditions present an unreasonable safety risk.
• Follow company policies regarding vehicle operation, distracted driving, and substance use.

Work Schedule & Compensation

Work schedules are determined by business needs and delivery appointments. Employees may occasionally be required to work additional hours or adjusted schedules.

Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and assigned responsibilities. Overtime will be paid in accordance with applicable Washington State and federal wage-and-hour laws.
