Position: Building Automation System Technician
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Programming and installation of BAS & DDC control systems, handling total system point to point, both operation and commissioning.
- Troubleshoot systems to ensure proper functionality.
- Backing up controller programs and BAS computers/servers.
- Performing periodic maintenance (BAS front end, DDC controllers, end devices, etc.).
- Respond to customer service calls (emergency, on-site and remote).
- Perform static and dynamic software programming independently.
- Configure customer operator workstations and all required software.
- Calibrate systems.
- Perform site specific training for owner/operator and assist with service turnover.
- Support and mentor colleagues in training.
- Working understanding of networking practices and fundamentals, preferred.
- Accurately complete necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
- Consistently strive for results that achieve standards of excellence.
Job Requirements:
- 5 years experience in commercial BAS automatic temperature control.
- Niagara N4 certified with experience.
- Proven background in general construction, focusing on HVAC systems (boilers, chillers, RTUs, AHUs and VAVs) and building automation controls.
- Strong understanding of controls strategies and with the ability to configure and commission building automation control.
- Practical experience and understanding of sequences of operation.
- Skilled background in control circuitry and wiring diagrams.
- Valid Florida drivers license with an acceptable driving record, to drive company vehicle.
- Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and background check.
- Strong computer skills to be able to program HVAC related software
- Strong work ethic and time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other team members.
- Good coordination, physical fitness and dexterity.
- Ability to think outside the box to create innovative and money-saving solutions for clients.
- Willingness to work overtime and on-call hours.
- Ability to visually differentiate wires by color.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to deescalate challenging situations.
- Ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers.
- Positive initiative-taker who is coachable and willing to learn new things.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds
