We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Underwriting Assistant for a seasonal opportunity running from May 11 through August 28. This role plays a key part in ensuring customer contracts are complete and accurate while supporting the underwriting process through administrative and customer service tasks.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, visualize, talk, hear, and handle or touch objects or controls. The employee may occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 20 pounds. This position is an office-based position where you must be able to sit for long periods of time. The employee will be working on a computer 90% of the time.
- This is an on-site position located in Wausau, WI. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST, with a minimum of two shifts per week from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. **
- Answer incoming phone calls in a timely, friendly, and professional manner
- Route callers to the appropriate team as needed
- Gather and update customer account and application information accurately
- Verify contracts promptly to support company goals
- Identify potential issues and communicate them clearly to the appropriate team for resolution
- Perform administrative tasks to support the underwriting process
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit, customer service, or a related field required
- Financial industry experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed
