Goodman Dermatology, an AQUA Dermatology portfolio practice, is the largest and most comprehensive full-service skin care provider in the Southeast. It offers medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, plastic surgery, vein care, and radiation oncology.
Our team is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant looking for a dermatology career. The Lead Medical Assistant will provide direct oversight to the dermatology nursing team at their assigned location. Responsibilities include managing workflow and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, company policies, and procedures. This position is the point person for concerns related to the day-to-day operations of the practice's clinical side. They work collaboratively with Providers, Medical Assistants, Front Desk staff, Office Managers, and patients.
Essential Functions
- Manages assigned staffing to fulfill provider and patient needs, serving as the liaison between clinical staff and providers.
- Monitors patient flow in real time to ensure the lowest possible wait times.
- Orders and maintains clinical supplies.
- Evaluates the performance of staff members, including coaching and performance management processes.
- Encourages and supports process improvements that promote fiscal responsibility and improved patient care.
- Assumes responsibility for patient flow processes. Strategies to improve the efficiency and eliminate barriers that impact patient care.
- Troubleshot patient and staff issues. Is responsible for patient satisfaction and complaint resolution.
- Performs Clinical Assistant tasks as needed to ensure excellent patient care. (See Medical Assistant)
- Leads team of Medical Assistants to accomplish common tasks in a collegial manner.
- Assists in the training of new staff as needed.
- Implements current and updated policies and procedures with their clinical staff.
- Keeps logbooks up to date and serves as a company representative to health inspectors.
- Ensures the timely response to all voicemails and other triage.
- Performs monthly quality Assessment of the office. Ensures compliance with OSHA and Bio-waste policies.
- Works well in a team environment to accomplish common tasks collegially.

Location: Canton
QUALIFICATIONS
Education - This position requires a High School Degree or equivalent.
Experience – 1 -2 years of medical office preferred. 2 years of Supervisory experience in a Medical environment. Must have the ability to effectively lead a team in a dermatology office
Communication – Excellent oral communication skills; effective communication.
Work Style - Must be able to work well independently but ask for help when needed—the ability to analyze and interpret information, the ability to interact and decipher information telephonically and electronically.
