We're seeking a full-time Human Resources Intern to join us this summer for a 12 week internship opportunity (June 1st - August 21st) in our La Jolla, San Diego office. The HR Intern will support the Human Resources team, gaining hands-on experience across multiple HR functions in a global environment. This role provides exposure to talent acquisition, employee engagement, HR operations, administrative support, and HRIS management, while contributing to initiatives that enhance the employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the review, optimization, and documentation of HRIS processes to improve efficiency and overall user experience
- Assist in the development and enhancement of standard operating procedures for key HR processes
- Help create and update employee and manager resources, including guides, toolkits, and policies
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of employee engagement initiatives and programs
- Conduct research and analysis of HRIS tools, including engagement survey platforms, and provide recommendations to enhance utilization and insights
- Review and update job descriptions to ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment with organizational needs and employer branding
- Support initiatives focused on building a more inclusive and accessible HR system for a diverse, global workforce
- Assist with HR reporting, data analysis, and general projects to support informed decision-making
- Shadow the various functions of the HR team to gain exposure to various stages of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, development, HRIS, and payroll activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support HR-related initiatives across the organization
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the HR team as needed
Education:
- Enrolled in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related degree program
Experience:
- Adaptable to global environment.
- Study or interest in HR.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Exposure to or interest in HR systems and project management concepts
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Problem-solving and innovative mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute new ideas.
Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
