THE ROLE
This position supports the development, coordination, and documentation of Apure’s architectural lighting projects from our Miami office.
The Lighting Design Coordinator will work closely with the lighting design, technical, project management, and sales teams to translate design direction into accurate AutoCAD plans, fixture schedules, specification books, quantity takeoffs, and quotation-ready documentation.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically proficient, and attentive to detail. They should be comfortable working within architectural drawing sets, managing revisions, preparing client-facing documentation, and coordinating multiple projects at different stages of development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Import, clean, organize, and maintain client AutoCAD files
• Place lighting fixtures and symbols into architectural and reflected ceiling plans
• Maintain drawing layers, blocks, legends, scales, sheet layouts, and file standards
• Prepare lighting plans, fixture schedules, specification books, and supporting project documentation
• Coordinate fixture cut sheets, technical information, mounting details, drivers, controls, and accessories
• Prepare fixture quantities and takeoffs for quotation
• Ensure consistency between lighting plans, fixture schedules, specification packages, and quotations
• Track project revisions, client comments, drawing updates, and design changes
• Prepare presentation materials and client-facing drawing packages
• Maintain organized project files and accurate records within Apure’s internal systems
• Collaborate closely with Apure’s lighting design, technical, project management, inside sales, and quotation teams
• Assist with specification revisions, project updates, and final quality-control reviews
• Help maintain standard drawing templates, symbols, schedules, and specification formats
• Support multiple active projects while maintaining accuracy, organization, and timely communication
QUALIFICATIONS
• Two or more years of experience in architectural drafting, lighting design, interior architecture, electrical design, or a related field
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, elevations, sections, and reflected ceiling plans
• Experience preparing professional drawing sets, fixture schedules, or specification packages
• Strong attention to detail and document accuracy
• Excellent organizational and file-management skills
• Ability to follow established design direction and drawing standards
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and revision cycles
• Strong interest in architectural lighting, interiors, and design
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• Experience within an architectural lighting design firm, architecture studio, interior design firm, electrical consultancy, or lighting manufacturer
• AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign, or comparible software
• Fixture schedules, specifications, quantity takeoffs, or quotation preparation
• High-end residential, hospitality, or luxury commercial projects
• Familiarity with lighting controls, remote drivers, and architectural ceiling conditions
