Position Summary
We are seeking a Temp-to-Hire Engineering / CNC Programming Technician to support our engineering and production teams. This role is responsible for creating, preparing, and outputting CNC programs according to the job schedule, helping ensure work is released accurately and on time to support manufacturing flow.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow established processes while working closely with Senior Engineers and production personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Create, review, and output CNC programs based on the current job schedule.
Prepare CNC files and related documentation for production.
Review drawings, cutlists, part information, and job requirements before releasing programs.
Verify material, tooling, part orientation, and machining requirements.
Coordinate with Senior Engineers to clarify job details, resolve missing information, and confirm programming priorities.
Communicate with production teams regarding program readiness, job questions, or potential issues.
Follow established engineering standards, file naming conventions, and release procedures.
Maintain organized digital job files and programming records.
Assist with updates or revisions to CNC programs as required.
Support continuous improvement of programming accuracy, workflow, and documentation.
Required Qualifications
Experience with CNC programming, CAD/CAM, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical role.
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, layouts, and technical documentation.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good computer skills and ability to work with job files, spreadsheets, and scheduling tools.
Ability to follow processes and meet daily job schedule requirements.
Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions when information is unclear.
Dependable, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
We are looking for a detail-oriented Engineering / CNC Programming Technician to join our team on a temp-to-hire basis. This position is responsible for creating and outputting CNC programs according to the job schedule and supporting the engineering release process.
The role reports to the Senior Engineers and works closely with production to ensure CNC programs, job files, and related documentation are accurate and ready for manufacturing. The right candidate should be comfortable reading drawings, working with technical information, following established processes, and communicating clearly when questions or issues arise.
Experience with CNC programming, CAD/CAM software, woodworking, cabinetry, millwork, or manufacturing is preferred. Familiarity with AutoCAD, CutRite, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, or WoodWOP is a plus. Strong attention to detail, organization, dependability, and willingness to learn are essential.
