Job Summary
Cognizant is looking for a Processor Operations Support Engineer to provide operational support for payment processing systems and transaction platforms. The role focuses on ensuring the smooth, secure, and uninterrupted processing of financial transactions while adhering to defined SLAs, compliance standards, and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 247 Processor Operations support for payment and transaction processing environments
- Monitor transaction flows, batch cycles, and realtime processing systems to ensure timely completion
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve processing failures, job abends, and transaction exceptions
- Work closely with application teams, banks, processors, and business stakeholders to resolve issues
- Perform daily operational activities including file transfers, reconciliation, and validation checks
- Ensure adherence to SLA, compliance, and audit requirements
- Handle incident, problem, and change management activities using ITIL processes
- Document operational procedures, incident resolutions, and process improvements
- Participate in shift rotations, oncall support, and weekend processing schedules
- Support endofday, endofmonth, and endofyear processing activities
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience in Processor Operations / Payment Operations Support
- Good understanding of payment processing workflows (cards, EFT, ACH, or transaction processing systems)
- Experience handling batch processing, job monitoring, and filebased interfaces
- Familiarity with incident and change management tools (ServiceNow preferred)
- Ability to troubleshoot processing issues and coordinate resolution across teams
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and operational best practices
- Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in banking or financial services environments (FIS experience is a plus)
- Exposure to mainframe or distributed payment platforms
- Knowledge of reconciliation and settlement processes
- Familiarity with automation and monitoring tools
- Relevant certifications in IT operations or financial systems (preferred)
Education
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or equivalent experience
