Computed Tomography Technologist (DRT – CT)
Location: VASDHS & CBOCs | Reports To: Chief/Supervisory Technologist | Schedule: 24/7 coverage; 12-hour shifts; on-call (30-minute report time)
Compensation: $65.00/hr plus $5.09 for Health and Wellness

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Screen and prep patients; obtain histories and consent as required; establish IV access and perform contrast injections (per protocol).
- Perform CT exams per VA protocols with appropriate dose optimization and radiation safety practices.
- Prepare rooms, supplies, and contrast; maintain crash-cart/contrast safety readiness.
- Post-process and transmit images to PACS; complete documentation in VistA/CPRS.
- Monitor patients for contrast reactions; initiate appropriate interventions and escalation.
- Collaborate with radiologists to tailor protocols for diagnostic quality and patient safety.
- Support quality control, peer review, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Advanced ARRT (CT) plus ARRT (R); California license(s) as applicable.
- 2 years full-time, current CT experience within the last 3 years.
- IV certification and demonstrated IV start/contrast administration competency.
- BLS; strong PACS/EMR skills; English fluency.
