Your Role

As a Software Engineering Intern with the ASUX Global Product Organization (GPO) in Troy, MI, you will work within the Cockpit Software Demo team developing cutting-edge web and embedded software features. You’ll gain hands-on experience in software design, networking, and vehicle user experience, contributing to high-profile demos that highlight Aptiv’s audio and sensor technologies.

Your Role

As a Software Engineering Intern with the ASUX Global Product Organization (GPO) in Troy, MI, you will work within the Cockpit Software Demo team developing cutting-edge web and embedded software features. You’ll gain hands-on experience in software design, networking, and vehicle user experience, contributing to high-profile demos that highlight Aptiv’s audio and sensor technologies.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and implement software features in C, C , and Python for in-vehicle systems.
- Design interactions between system components and work with TCP/IP networking protocols.
- Collaborate on cloud-based development initiatives to enhance vehicle connectivity.
- Build an ambient lighting feature that changes colors based on music beat and genre, creating an engaging in-vehicle experience.
- Implement a curb clearance warning system using Aptiv’s Pulse sensor to alert drivers with video feedback.
- Develop a health monitoring dashboard with Grafana to track demo vehicle software status and errors.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including audio, perception, and real-time vision groups.
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with software development in C and C , with Python as a plus.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking and embedded systems.
- Interest in vehicle user experience and automotive software systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
