Electrical Engineer – Low Voltage Automotive Systems
Location: Long Beach, CA (Onsite 4 days/week)
Overview
An innovative automotive organization is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support low‑voltage electronic components across multiple vehicle programs. This role centers on supplier collaboration, validation testing, and ensuring proper performance of electronic modules within a 12V automotive environment. Candidates should bring strong electrical fundamentals and hands‑on testing experience.
Responsibilities
Support low‑voltage (12V) electronic components across multiple vehicle teams and programs
Collaborate with suppliers to review requirements, test plans, and validation results
Conduct validation testing, electrical characterization, voltage drop analysis, and functional checks
Ensure suppliers complete all required testing and meet component performance expectations
Evaluate component functionality and confirm feature performance within vehicle systems
Work with components such as:
UWB
Bluetooth & BLE
Audio modules
NFC readers
Vehicle access modules
Telematics units
Manage high volumes of components and incoming work across multiple programs
Provide technical support and clarification for internal teams
Document test results, issues, and supplier feedback
Participate in scenario‑based technical reviews during evaluation stages
Required Skills & Experience
Strong electrical engineering fundamentals
Experience with validation testing, component testing, or electrical characterization
Familiarity with communication protocols: CAN, LIN, Bluetooth, UWB, NFC, etc.
Ability to work in a hands‑on testing environment
Experience with voltage drop testing and 12V automotive systems
Automotive background strongly preferred (OEM, Tier suppliers, small vehicles, commercial/industrial electronics, robotics)
Open to early‑ or mid‑career engineers who may benefit from mentorship
Must be onsite in Long Beach four days per week
Nice‑to‑Have Experience
Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier background
Experience with small electric vehicles (golf carts, utility vehicles)
Commercial/industrial electronics or robotics experience
Wireless module testing (Bluetooth, NFC, UWB)
Salary : $1 - $2
