What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter position at APTIM?
Job Overview: Applies paint coating to various surfaces to include, but not limited to, interior and exterior of commercial buildings, and streets. Performs exterior and interior painting in living quarters and other buildings and streets including preparation of surfaces. Perform all street striping and maintain all surface paved roads and parking lots. The painter will perform work in accordance with the requirements of HDSS.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Performs complete, partial, or touch up painting in buildings.
- Prepares surfaces for painting by cleaning, stripping, sanding, and masking.
- Repairs drywall by patching and texturing.
- Operates and maintains airless spray equipment and other related tools such as staging and/or elevated
platforms. - Preventive maintenance and cleaning of paint equipment.
- Performs minor repair to various types of spray and other paint equipment.
- Protects persons, facilities, and equipment in surrounding areas where painting is being performed.
- Matches, mixes and blends paint.
- Work at height necessary to accomplish painting operations
- Operate both paint striping machine and paint mixing machine.
- Troubleshoot paint related equipment.
- Participation in all APTIM/HDSS EHS and Quality procedures.
- Maintain paint related equipment and storage facility.
- Participation in EPA requirements for handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Must be able to accurately track time, work orders, and parts using electronic devices.
- Must be able to act professionally in the presence of the public and co-workers.
- Able to operate crack sealing machine in order to prepare all road services for paint.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicant must have three (3) years' experience in commercial painting.
- Position requires experience in all phases of interior and exterior painting and finishes, use of all types of
paint equipment including airless and conventional spray tools. - Must have knowledge of various types of paint equipment and their application in conjunction with
various forms of protective coating. - Must be able to demonstrate the ability to apply various types of paint coating to specific needs and
requirements including stains and clear finishes such as polyurethane, varnishes, sealer and lacquer.

Wage Rates & Union Benefits
Wage rates and fringe benefits for this position are governed by terms of a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between the company and a union with jurisdiction for the job location.
CBAs for union projects typically include a retirement plan (such as a pension, annuity, or 401(k)), health insurance (e.g., medical, dental, vision), and other benefits. APTIM pays the costs for some fringe benefit plans for employees working on union projects. Under some CBAs, however, you may be required to contribute a percentage of your wages toward the cost of these benefits.
Additionally, you may also qualify for paid sick leave, paid holidays, paid vacation, and supplemental insurance plans (e.g., life, short-term disability, long-term disability). The CBA contains the terms and conditions of eligibility as well as information about any costs to you.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $34.55 per hour.
