Job Summary
APTIM is hiring a Civil Engineer to perform Installation Support Services for the United States Army Garrison Redstone (USAG-R) Department of Public Works (DPW) with our partner AKIMA. This position includes Pollution Controls, Compliance, Environmental Restoration Services, Landfill Operations, Engineering & Work Management Services, Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance, Service Orders for Facilities, Wastewater, Steam and Infrastructure at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
General Responsibilities:
- A seasoned experienced professional with a full understanding of civil engineering resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways.
- Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in structural engineering, plus working knowledge of other related fields.
- Provides resolution to a diverse scope and range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Development of project design basis, development of specifications, and performance of detailed engineering.
- Ensures conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards.
- Ensure project budgets and schedules are met.
- Communicates with DPW on civil issues and works towards the best solutions.
- Performs research for special equipment and methods for occasional non-standard repairs.
- Oversees Craft Shops on Civil/Structural type repair work performed.
- May perform in project leadership role and/or may supervise the activities of lower-level personnel.
- Contributes to a team environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 6-10 years of civil engineering experience
- Valid State Driver's License
- Meet requirements for: pre-employment physical, drug screening, background check, and MVR check (MVR points are subject to company policy).
- Must obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods, ability to lift objects up to 50lbs.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $110,000 - $115,000 Per Year. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
