Position Purpose
The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for the commercial positioning, documentation, pricing coordination, and market presentation of the company’s product portfolio across all distribution channels.
This role serves as the bridge between Engineering, Sales, and Marketing — translating technical product development into clear market positioning, sales enablement tools, and distributor-ready content. While Engineering owns new product development, the Product Marketing Manager
takes products from engineering release through commercial launch and ongoing lifecycle management.
This individual owns how our products are presented to the market.
Job Functions and Responsibilities
Product Positioning & Messaging
• Develop and maintain clear value propositions for all products across distribution
channels
• Work with graphic designers to write and refine product copies for websites, catalogs,
advertising and sales materials
• Edit and translate technical documentation from Engineering into customer-facing
messaging
• Ensure consistent product positioning across all marketing platforms
Product Documentation & Content Ownership
• Work directly with graphic designers and software engineers to develop the following
materials, while owning product documentation including:
o Product data sheets
o Catalog content
o Website product pages
o Distributor portal content
• Ensure all product information is accurate, updated, and aligned with current
specifications
• Manage revision updates and version control of commercial-facing materials
Pricing & Market Placement
• Coordinate pricing strategy in collaboration with leadership and sales
• Support price updates, documentation, and communication to distribution channels
• Work with graphic design to ensure correct product categorization and placement across:
o Website
o Printed catalogs
o Distributor portals
o Channel-specific marketing materials
Distributor Channel Coordination
• Work with Distribution Sales Managers to ensure products are properly positioned within
each channel
• Customize messaging and materials as needed per channel strategy
• Serve as marketing liaison to distribution partners for product-related needs
Training & Sales Enablement
• Work with graphic design, software engineering, and/or curriculum to develop and
deliver product training materials for:
o Distributors
o Internal sales teams
• Prepare launch kits and product training presentations for new products
• Support distributor education on product features, benefits, and differentiation
New Product Commercialization
• Partner with Engineering during product development to prepare commercialization
strategy
• Take ownership of product marketing deliverables from engineering handoff through
market launch
• Coordinate with creative/multimedia team to develop launch materials
• Ensure all launch materials are complete, accurate, and available to distribution channels
(Note: Engineering owns product development; this role owns market readiness and product
marketing execution.)
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
• 3–7 years of experience in product marketing, product management, or marketing within
manufacturing or distribution environments preferred
• Experience supporting distributor or channel-based sales models strongly preferred
• Strong technical writing and copy-editing ability
• Ability to translate technical information into clear customer-facing messaging
• Experience managing multiple product lines simultaneously
• Highly organized with strong cross-functional communication skills

Travel
- Some travel required. The job is not dependent upon travel but will be important
from time-to-time to get in the field and meet customers, understand their needs,
as well as attend trade shows to understand the market needs.
Tools and Technology
- Strong computer skills, as well as Microsoft Office Products and Email client
- Familiarity with ERP Systems, CRM Systems, Web applications
- Understanding of how data flows using databases and forms for software applications
