We have an immediate opportunity for a Medical Office Assistant in Fairfax, VA (Fair Oaks location). If you have excellent customer service and communication skills and the ability to multitask in a busy and evolving clinic environment, you could be a great fit for this opportunity!
The Medical Office Assistant should have a great personality, be efficient, organized and punctual, be familiar with a variety of health insurance providers and be highly proficient with managing patient referrals and scheduling. You will be an integral part in ensuring that our office operations run smoothly.
What you'll be doing;
- Scheduling surgeries and coordinating with patients to ensure all required clearances and documentation from their providers are completed prior to surgery.
- Completing and submitting surgical scheduling forms to the designated surgery centers.
- Reviewing coding and obtaining prior authorizations for surgeries.
- Completing disability forms and workers’ compensation paperwork.
- Sending medical records via email, fax, and mail upon request.
- Preparing and obtaining signed affidavits.
- Scheduling IMEs, PPD evaluations, and records reviews.
- Sending invoices and billing for IMEs, PPD evaluations, and records reviews.
- Answering emails from my assigned email account and assisting with front desk correspondence.
- Assisting the front desk with patient check-in/check-out and appointment scheduling.
- Translating and preparing work notes when the medical assistant is unavailable.
- Assist with managing the Surgeon's schedule
- Following up on workers’ compensation and personal injury cases to ensure all approvals are obtained.
- Make sure pharmacy is entered correctly for patients to ensure their correct med arrival
- Obtaining Medical Records from different facilities for Second Opinions or regular new patients when needed.
- Maintain medical records and files and perform other assigned clinic duties, as needed
As a Team Member - You'll receive;
- Hourly pay of $22- $24 per hour.

What you'll need;
- Be able available to work Monday - Friday 8 AM - 4:30 PM
- Being a great multi-tasker with the ability to thrive in a busy clinic environment is essential.
- 3 Years of Medical Admin and office support is needed, preferrably in an Orthopedic setting.
- Be able to create a great first impression for our patients, that will last throughout their recovery and continued visits.
- Bilingual fluent English and Spanish is a plus.
- Owning a personal vehicle for getting to and from the clinic location will be needed.
