Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Program Director or his/her designee, this is a front-line position. The primary emphasis is to maintain appropriate patient (resident) traffic flow within the residential setting. The incumbent works with the criminal justice population, and within a clinically based milieu.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets APT foundation patients (residents and their families) in courteous and helpful manner.
- Provides appropriate diagnostic tests, including urine screening and breathalyzer, as requested.
- Follows established guidelines.
- Follows written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work within an often busy and sometimes challenging environment dominated by constant interruptions
- Willingness to accept instruction and supervision on a continuous or frequent basis
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills;
- Ability to interact with clients, patients, staff throughout the day or evening hours
- Ability to work with diverse and often culturally different individuals across multiple boundaries including physical and/or cognitive impairments or disabilities, ethnicity, gender identity, as well as linguistically different skill sets;
- Ability to maintain the highest ethical standards including disclosure of real and potential conflicts of interest with patients and clients of the Foundation
- Maintains patient and/or family and/or participant confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate’s degree or 2 years post-secondary education; or equivalent combination of training and education.
- Experience in mental health/ substance use facility a plus.
- MUST have valid CT Driver’s License.
