Linux Engineer

Seeking a skilled Linux Engineer to support and maintain enterprise Red Hat Linux environments and container platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with RHEL administration, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Ansible automation. This role will partner closely with Infrastructure, DevOps, Security, and Application teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable platform operations.Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers.
- Support containerized environments utilizing OpenShift and Kubernetes.
- Develop and maintain automation solutions using Ansible.
- Monitor system health, performance, and capacity to ensure platform stability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Linux, container, and infrastructure-related issues.
- Perform system patching, upgrades, security hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation initiatives.
- Manage backups, disaster recovery processes, and recovery testing.
- Maintain Linux networking, storage, file systems, and security configurations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and platform enhancements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years of Linux administration/engineering experience in enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Experience supporting OpenShift and/or Kubernetes environments.
- Proven experience with Ansible automation.
- Experience with Docker or other container technologies.
- Strong scripting skills using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience supporting DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of Linux networking, security, storage, and performance tuning.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- RHCSA and/or RHCE certification.
- Experience with Red Hat Satellite.
- Experience with OpenShift Platform Plus (OPP) or similar enterprise container platforms.
- Experience in large-scale production environments.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
