The General Inspector will be responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and performing field inspections across all construction disciplines. This role ensures strict adherence to contract specifications, building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction and renovation projects across multiple trades.
- Verify contract and code compliance of workmanship, materials, and installations.
- Schedule and coordinate inspections with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Utilize construction management software (e.g., E-Builder) to track progress, generate reports, and document findings.
- Monitor labor compliance, workplace safety, and adherence to OSHA standards.
- Identify defects, omissions, or non-conformances and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, records, and documentation for project compliance.
- Provide recommendations for approval or rejection of work and materials.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve issues promptly.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in construction inspection, multi-trade building, or renovation projects.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Construction or related field, Trade School diploma, or equivalent certification.
- Education requirement may be waived with 10 years of relevant inspection experience.
- Certifications:
- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Quality Control Manager (QCM) Certification (preferred).
- OSHA 30 certification (required).
- Proficiency with construction management software (E-Builder or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and construction best practices.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with diverse project teams.
- Strong attention to detail and high standards for quality assurance.
- Experience in large-scale or government construction projects is a plus.
