Summary:
Our client is a well-established civil construction company based in Central Florida, actively seeking an experienced Project Manager to own projects from kickoff through completion. This role sits at the intersection of field operations and project financials — working directly alongside the Controller on job costing, budgeting, and forecasting while managing active site development work. Ideal candidates bring a civil construction background, strong financial fluency at the project level, and the ability to operate comfortably in both the office and the field.

What You'll Own
- Lead civil site development projects from initiation through certificate of completion.
- Develop and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and forecasts in partnership with the Controller.
- Track job costs against budget throughout project lifecycle; identify and flag variances early.
- Build and maintain project schedules; coordinate crews, subcontractors, and vendors to keep work on track.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide mitigation recommendations to leadership.
- Serve as primary liaison between field teams, clients, and vendors throughout project execution.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and contractual requirements on all active projects.
Must-Haves
- 5 years of project management experience (Highly prefer industry experience in civil construction or site development)
- Demonstrated experience managing project-level budgets, job costing, and financial forecasting.
- Hands-on field experience — must be comfortable on active civil construction sites.
- Background in site development work: earthwork, underground utilities, grading, paving, or comparable.
- Proficiency with construction PM software (Procore or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of construction compliance, permitting, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field — or equivalent field experience.
Nice to Have
- PMP, CAPM, or comparable project management certification.
- Experience working closely with a Controller or finance team on WIP schedules and percent-complete reporting.
- Familiarity with Central Florida permitting and FDOT or municipal project requirements.
