An aerospace client is looking for a Composite Prod Tool who will lay out articles, cuts parts or materials to size and apply liquid or solid bonding agents.
Location: El Segundo, CA 90245(Onsite)
Position: Composite Prod Tool
Pay Rate: $26.88/hr. - $33.45/hr. on W2 (DOE)
Duration: 12 months or longer
Schedule: 9x80 A
Shift: **Ability to work any shift**
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Lay out articles, cuts parts or materials to size and apply liquid or solid bonding agents.
- Understanding of ply orientations and vacuum bagging processes
- Operates autoclave, hydraulic presses and ovens to complete bonding cycle.
- Control conditions of heat, pressure, and timing by setting and operating various controls according to the specifications for the materials and the bonding agent being used.
- Sand, burs and smooth over areas, apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges.
- Monitor and verify quality of finished product.
- Complete repairs on composite, metal or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions. Verifies quality of finished product.
- US Citizenship is required.
- High School diploma or GED with at least 4 years of relatable composite fabrication or bonding experience in manufacturing/production environment
- One year experience in composites, structures, or machining
- Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: lifting over 25 pounds, working with chemicals, prolonged overhead work, prolonged kneeling, bending, or stooping, and carrying tools.
- Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
- Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends
- Must successfully complete and pass the “ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance” within a reasonable time period, as defined by the company to meet its business need.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with high temperature composite materials including BMI and Polyimide.
• Experience with structural subassemblies, including bonding, co-bonding, core bonding and bagging
