Role Overview

The Technical Project Manager (TPM) will lead end-to-end delivery of Microsoft 365 and Exchange migration or implementation projects. This role demands a balance of project leadership, stakeholder communication, and deep technical expertise in M365 architecture and migration tools. The selected candidate will ensure successful project execution through meticulous planning, cross-functional coordination, and technical acumen.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Management (40%)

· Lead end-to-end project lifecycle for M365 and Exchange migration initiatives from planning to post-implementation review.

· Develop and maintain project charters, schedules, risk registers, and communication plans.

· Track deliverables, timelines, and dependencies using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or ServiceNow.

· Manage project budgets, resources, and vendor engagements to ensure timely and quality delivery.

· Enforce governance, change control, and documentation standards aligned with PMO or customer guidelines.

2. Stakeholder Management and Communication (20%)

· Act as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal delivery teams.

· Conduct regular status reviews, executive updates, and steering committee presentations.

· Translate technical progress into concise business summaries for leadership reporting.

· Identify and manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring alignment of objectives and communication flow.

· Build cross-functional relationships with cloud architects, security teams, and network engineers to achieve migration readiness.

3. Technical Expertise – Microsoft 365 and Exchange (40%)

· Provide hands-on guidance in M365 migration, Exchange Online integration, and hybrid coexistence scenarios.

· Lead discovery, assessment, and pilot migration activities using tools like BitTitan, Quest, or Mover.

· Troubleshoot technical migration challenges, user provisioning, and mail flow issues.

· Apply deep knowledge of Azure AD, Intune, Teams, and SharePoint Online to ensure end-to-end readiness.

· Support identity management, authentication (SSO/MFA), and compliance configurations during migration.

· Develop runbooks, cutover strategies, and rollback plans to ensure smooth transitions with minimal business impact.

Mandatory Skills

· Proven experience delivering 2–3 large-scale M365 migration or Exchange Online implementation projects.

· Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune, Azure AD).

· Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid).

· Hands-on experience with migration tools such as Quest, BitTitan, or SkyKick.

· Technical understanding of email routing, DNS, hybrid configuration, and PowerShell scripting.

· Excellent stakeholder and communication skills, including executive-level reporting and status presentations.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

· 8 years in IT project delivery with at least 3–5 years in M365/Exchange migrations.

· Microsoft certifications preferred:

o MS-100 (Microsoft 365 Identity and Services)

o MS-203 (Microsoft 365 Messaging)

o PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification (preferred).

· Strong understanding of ITIL processes and change management practices.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour
