What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Athletic Trainer (Temporary) position at appstate?
1. Works under supervision of the Director of Athletic Training Services and serves in therole at the pleasure of the Director of Athletic Training Services.2. Responsible for coverage of athletics at the discretion of the Director of AthleticTraining Services. This includes following all policies and procedures as set forth by theChancellor of the University, Director of Athletics, and Director of Athletic TrainingServices.3. Responsible for the prevention, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuriesunder the direction of the Appalachian State University Team Physicians.4. Supervises and evaluates athletic training students.5. Serve as a liaison between coaches, student-athletes, physicians, and parents.6. Responsible for completing insurance claims and performing related record keeping notlimited to, but to include seeking authorizations from student-athlete’s primary insurance.7. Maintain continuing education according to the requirements of the Board ofCertification and the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners.8. Abide by the rules as set forth by the National Collegiate Athletic Association andSunbelt Conference.9. Attend athletic training staff meetings.10. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the athletic training room.11. Develop and distribute visiting team information in the form of an email in a timelyfashion.12. Perform miscellaneous related duties.13. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletic Training.14. Assist with maintaining a master database of forms for the athletic trainingdepartment.15. Assist with updating pre-participation exam forms and ensuring the forms on thewebsite are current.16. Assist with hydrotherapy room, maintaining proper chemical balance, andwhirlpool maintenance.
