Paramedical Examiner

Our company is APPS Paramedical, a 50-year-old national company that completes mobile examinations for the life insurance industry.

The job of “examiner” is a 1099 contract job typically done by phlebotomists and other phlebotomy trained health professionals. The duties include taking vitals (height, weight, BP, and pulse), blood draw, urine specimen collection, medical history questionnaires, EKG and assorted other less common services.

Exams are scheduled by our office and assigned to the Examiner based on their scheduled availability. Most exams take 20-30min but up to 75 or so minutes. Examiners are paid for exams that are completed with the range being $19-25 per case, the average being about $23.

Exams are completed at the clients home or work location.

In addition to the exam, and examiner must process the paperwork and specimen and FedEx specimens to the lab (FedEx is paid by the lab) anywhere from 5-20 exams per week can be completed depending on the area covered, availability of examiners schedule, and availability of exams.

This work is ideal for

· Diligent workers who do not need direct supervision or instruction to complete tasks

· Those needing a somewhat flexible work schedule

· Those looking for a income, generally up to $5-600/week depending on the area

· Those who have the proper training in place for phlebotomy

This work is NOT ideal for

· Those looking for full time income over the above listed expectations (although diligent examiners can make up to $800/wk)

· Those looking for a Second income

· Those with schedules that keep them from working weekday mornings or weekends

· Those with poor attention to detail

What is needed for this work

· Smart cell phone

· Home computer or laptop with a laser printer

· 10” Tablet with wifi hotspot

· Centrifuge (can be arranged through our office)

· EKG (can be arranged through our office)

· Exam equipment (stethoscope, BP cuff, bathroom style scale, carry bag, etc)
