Job Duties
- Lead architecture and design of complex multilayer PCB systems, including power distribution, high-speed interfaces, control circuitry, and debug access
- Define electrical system trade-offs across performance, signal integrity, thermal constraints, manufacturability, and testability
- Own signal and power integrity strategy, including simulation, analysis, and margin closure prior to fabrication
- Drive board bring-up, validation, and system-level debugging, establishing repeatable processes for production
- Develop evaluation platforms for new components, defining test infrastructure to characterize and qualify devices
- Establish electrical validation plans and compliance strategies for high-speed interfaces and critical subsystems
- Build automated test and programming infrastructure in partnership with firmware and manufacturing teams
- Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure robust DFM and DFT practices, optimizing for yield and serviceability
- Analyze production data and field failures to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Contribute to internal standards for design, documentation, and engineering reviews
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 6 years of experience designing high-speed hardware systems through full product lifecycle
- Strong experience with schematic capture and multilayer PCB design using tools such as Altium or similar
- Deep understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, and high-speed interfaces such as SerDes, PCIe, Ethernet, or DDR
- Hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes, VNAs, TDR, BERTs, and advanced debugging techniques
- Proven experience leading board bring-up and resolving system-level hardware issues
- Experience working closely with manufacturing teams on production readiness, including DFM and DFT
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
- Background in high-performance hardware, optics, photonics, semiconductors, or compute systems
- Experience building automated electrical test systems for production or validation environments
- Familiarity with firmware programming and debug workflows such as JTAG, SWD, or ISP
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading hardware development efforts
- Scripting experience for automation or data analysis using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools
- Experience with SI/PI simulation tools such as HFSS, SIwave, or HyperLynx
- Exposure to advanced PCB technologies including rigid-flex, HDI, or RF design
- Knowledge of EMC and EMI design practices and compliance testing
- Familiarity with configuration management systems and engineering change processes
