They are currently seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Site Safety Manager to join their team and champion this commitment on-site. Position Summary
The Site Safety Manager is responsible for the implementation, administration, and oversight of the site-specific safety program. This role involves daily site inspections, subcontractor coordination, incident investigation, and proactive training to ensure all personnel comply with company policies and federal/state OSHA regulations. You will be the primary on-site authority for all safety matters, fostering a culture where every individual takes ownership of their safety and the safety of those around them.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and enforce the site-specific safety plan and all company safety policies.
- Conduct daily safety audits and inspections to identify and correct potential hazards, unsafe conditions, and non-compliant behaviors.
- Lead safety orientation for all new employees, visitors, and subcontractor personnel.
- Facilitate regular safety meetings, including daily "toolbox talks" and weekly all-hands safety discussions.
- Ensure all operations comply with federal, state, and local safety regulations (OSHA).
- Investigate, document, and report all incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractor leadership to integrate safety planning into all phases of construction.
- Maintain all site-specific safety documentation, including inspection logs, training records, and incident reports.
Qualifications and Experience
- 3-4 years of dedicated construction safety experience.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
- Essential Requirement: Must have verifiable project experience on large-scale vertical construction projects, such as commercial, hospitality, multi-family, or high-rise structures.
- Experience from sectors like energy (e.g., substations) will not be considered relevant for this position.
- Strong, in-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations for the construction industry.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 500, 510) are highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build consensus with field staff and subcontractors.
- Stable work history and a team-oriented mindset.
